About the event
This month's paint night continues our celebration of AAPI Heritage Month! Join us and paint your own moon jar portrait inspired by the works of currently displayed artist Kyong Oh and renowned Korean painter and abstract artist Kim Whanki (1913-1974).
Moon jars are a type of traditional Korean white porcelain made during the Joseon period. Favored for their elegance and simplicity, they carry great significance to Korean culture and identity today.
Through an exploration of geometrical round shapes and small dotted patterns, join our curator and resident art historian Kelly Cook for an evening of peaceful contemplation, the celebration of simple expressions of joy and a mini-lesson in Korean art history!
